My cat now sprays whenever I say no to him. He is an indoor and outdoor cat although he stays in most of the time.

Spraying can be a form of passive aggressive behavior in cats. They will do this when upset or having anxiety. There are drug therapies available, most notably amitriptylline or depo provera injections. These are not without potential side effects. Most agree the ideal situation is to resolve any emotional upsets, but this can be easier said than done. Discuss treatment options with your regular veterinarian.
