What to feed elderly dog with minimal teeth

My elderly dog has lost a lot of her back teeth and cannot chew her dry food. I do not want to feed her can food. She swallows the food whole now. Is there a better choice?

How long has she been missing the teeth? The reason I ask is that most dogs with teeth loss will typically start chewing on dry food within a few months of tooth loss. Their gums get very tough. An alternative is to moisten the dry food slightly to soften it for her. We have a small Chihuahua at the Sanctuary who eats her dry food with a little water added.
