What can I do with a cat that has feline aids?

I have 3 other cats. This was a stray that I have had for one month and just found out it has the virus. I can’t isolate him because my home is too small and all the cats are indoor cats. I need help.

Certainly the best plan is to segregate the cat with FIV from the cats without the virus. A carrier with the virus can pass the virus to unaffected cats even if they are not showing symptoms. Testing positive for the virus does not mean the cat has “aids”. Aids is the active form of the disease. It is possible for a cat that is positive for the virus to live years without having active aids. We have such cats at the Sanctuary.
