The most common cause for such behavior is a condition known as inhalant allergic dermatitis, This condition is due to inhaling an allergen that leads to an itchy face and feet. Westies are particularly susceptible to these types of allergies. We have good luck at the Sanctuary with immune therapy offered by Heska. Traditional therapy includes prednisolone or cyclosporine therapy.
