My 6 months old cavaliers eyes run all the time and stain.

The vet said they seemed blocked. They sedated her and flushed her ducts. They found they were slow but were not completely blocked, and advised me it was the shape of her face. They seem reluctant to do surgery as they say it is only cosmetic. What do you think?

At DELTA, we only do surgery when there is a medical reason to do so. Cosmetic surgery is not worth the anesthetic risk! If there is chronic infection associated with the tearing that is another story. However, if the problem is truly the shape of the face, it may not be readily corrected with surgery. A consultation with a veterinary ophthalmologist might set your mind at ease.
