MY 11 yr/ old beagle had been coughing and i didn’t pay attention – I thought she had hair in her throat and thought she was clearing it. I took her to he Vet yesterday and the Dr. put her on Temarill twice a day 1.5 pills. I have noticed she is out of breath and she seems to breathing harder. I’m just wondering if this is normal? Since she is taking the pills yesterday I’m concerned she has gotten worse.

Some additional diagnostic work should be done on this dog. At the sanctuary a dog this age would have some X-rays of the chest and an ultrasound of the heart for symptoms you describe. We would also run lab work to rule out infections. Heart problems and lung disease are common for a dog this age.
