is it safe to put the seresto collar on my dog who is on prednisone fighting lymphoma?

I am afraid to give nexquard or frontline. I dont want anything to interfere with the prednisone he is on. Right now the lymph nodes have all shrunk and I think putting a topical of frontline on could cause problems. Would I be better off using the seresto collar and put on when we walk and take off when he is at home? We have never used the collar before.

I am uncertain taking the collar on and off would provide protection. I have successfully used Nexgard and Bravecto with dogs on chemotherapy at the Sanctuary. With a compromised immune system it is important to prevent exposure to tick borne diseases. This is an individual patient decision and your treating veterinarian would be in the best position to assess your pet’s condition and his ability to take any flea and tick preventative.
