I had a Shih Tzu that is 8 yrs. old. Weights 13.6 and his heart beat is 60. What is a normal heart beat.

Normal heart rate for dogs is considered 60 to 130. Smaller dogs do tend to beat toward the faster end. An EKG, radiographs, and blood work should determine if there is a problem. If there are no symptoms associated with the rate I would not be overly concerned.
