Grass eating dogs

Dear Dr. Brown, I have two dogs…a 4 year old golden retriever/chow mix and a 1 1/2 year old golden retriever. They are both grass eaters. Is this something that I should be concerned about? They are fed morning and night with Nutro Max Large Breed Adult dog food so I know it is not because they are hungry. What is going on? your opinion will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

This is normal and no cause for concern! Some dogs eat more than others and will often pick up the habit from another dog. Some believe it acts as a natural laxative, but it is not a sign of a nutritional problem.
