CRONIC NASAL / SINUS INFECTION

Our 12 year old miniature schnauzer has had 3 nasal scopes and a cti and has taken multiple antibiotics and anti-iflamitories for 6 months. There is no evidence of tumors or foreign objects detected. The diagnosis is a combination of 2 bacterial infections. Are there any other treatments or medications suggested including dietary supplements or diet changes.

Answer from Dr. Gaylord Brown:
Vitamin A at 500 units daily may prove helpful. Also, I have used eye drops successfully into the nose to help persistent nasal infections. Multiple culture and sensitivities are often required. Also, consider getting allergy testing, as allergies can cause the chronic inflammation allowing the infections to flourish.
