I have always put collars on all my pets with name tags etc. But when I got my 2 cats (at different times) they BOTH will NOT ware a collar.
When I put it on them, the try and bite it off and the collar gets STUCK around their mouth and I am affraid they will get really hurt if I wasn’t watching.
They are indoor cats.
What should I do?
Hi, Dr.Brown. I have 3 questions about my mix chihuahua. I do not know what her other half breed is. She weights 9-10 pounds.
Question 1. What do I feed my mix chihuahua? What type of food? My chihuahua hasn’t grown any bigger lately. She is 41 cm long and 18 cm tall.
Question 2. My chihuahua tends to pee on the floor when she is scared. Why is that?
Question 3. My dog is 10 months old now of July. She will be a year old in 2 months, but she hasn’t had her “womanly” hood yet. I am curious. Is there a reason to it?
I have a small Shih-Tzu mix. I am home with her quite a bit, but when I do have to leave, even for short periods of time, she will urinate and or defecate on the floor. I think she is doing this out of spite because I leave her. Is there anything I can do to stop this behavior. I have tried keeping her in a confined area (no crate) in the kitchen, left an old shirt of mine, but this doesn’t always seem to help. Any suggestions?
I own a 4 1/2 year old male Golden Doodle. On several occasions when he has gotten out of the yard by mistake he has attacked dogs around our house. I had to drag him off of the dog he was attacking. Why does he do this and how can I change his behavior so he doesn’t attack other dogs by our home?
Note: We have an electric fence as our sub doesn’t allow regular fences. One time he got out I had forgotten to put his collar on and the other time I hadn’t realized the battery was dead in his collar. I have corrected this by always checking to make sure his collar battery is good before I put his collar on and I always put it on before he goes out. But if he ever breaches the electric fence I don’t want him attacking other dogs in the area. Is there any way to change his behavior so he won’t attack other dogs?
I am in desperate need of a solution. Thank you for your reply.
my dog has been spotting and i took him to the vet who said that if he was spayed he would be fixed but it would cost $300 that i don’t have. They gave me medication which has run out and they won’t re-fill it unless he is seen again.I can’t afford to take him back what should I do?
My dog is great w/people,kids/strangers etc all except other dogs. She growls, and wants to snap at them.We adopted her from a shelter about a year ago,and she is 3 1/2 to 4 years old.she does show some alfa dog characteristics, other then that SHE IS GREAT!She is a lab mix,we think with a beagle. thank you
I saw your show today for the first time. I think you are wonderful. My 5 year old Bison dog has problems with his joints. We went to our Vet and she has helped, but i would like to know what you have to say about treatment.
Thank you, Bill Hixson, firstname.lastname@example.org
took a stray in. took to vet to remove a growth (lump)that opened up. it was removed and sticthed 2 times(first sticthes came out) In a 2 wk. period they gave her a rabies shot, 4-in-shot, treatment for fleas, tapeworm shot(praziquantel),clavamox, metronidazole, metacam and she has had diareah everyday for2 wks. Will this diareah stop after all these meds get out of her system or can we give her something over the counter. Please help! She drinks lots of water(Always has, ever since we took her in 6 wks ago.)She also has a good appetite. they said she is about 13 yr. and has a slight heart murmer. we have no money for further evaluation. she only weights 7 lbs.
I have a 18 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. I take her to doggie day camp 2 or 3 times a week. The day after she is always exhausted because they play for about 6 or 7 hours while there. 1 – Is it possible for her to play too much? 2 – Since she plays so much at camp, does she still need to get out for a few hours on her “off” days? If I take her out to walk she enjoys it, but she seems content to sleep and relax most of the day.
My rabbit (age about 9) seems to have had a stroke. She is unable to sit up because her legs are not functioning. She is lying on one side, but eating well(hand fed) and eliminating(poops are smaller than usual). When I had a previous rabbit euthanized the vet told me it is not something I would want to see, so now I am concerned that I am keeping my pet alive to avoid putting her through that experience while making her suffer anyway.
What would you recommend?
When ever it storms my daschund first starts pacing back and forth then she starts crying and whining, then she starts panting until she vomits. Every single time. She also chews pillows and comforters until the have holes in them. I think this is anxiety, what do you think and what do you recommend to help her. I’m afraid she is going to have a heart attack it is that bad. Please Help.
I have a 16 yr. old 18 lb Westie. She is hard of hearing and has arthritis in her hips but is otherwise healthy. I give her Rimadyl (35mg a day} but it doesn’t help that much. She still loves to walk but it hurts me to see her limping and in pain. Is there anything else I can do for her.
I have had Lyme since 1972.I use Jernigan Neuro Antitox to help detoxify Lyme toxins. I Had a burro bitten by a rattler in 2006 who then developed inflammatory disease and worsened over 2 years> tried many things, including homeopathy. Nothing worked. I then began using Dr. David Jernigan’s product myself. I tried it on the burro and she made an immediate turn around. three bottles and 3 years later, she is still doing great. We had a young dog bitten last June and I gave her a shot of pen/dexate and began the Jernigan. She never got sick and the swelling was gone in a day, never got infected. Dr. Jernigan was surprised…I just know it works…http://www.jernigannutraceuticals.com/Lyme%20Disease.html
