heartworm meds for Lab service dog
my 8 1/2 yr. old Lab Service Dog has always used Interceptor.It’s unavailable from mfg. for 4 mos.I want a med closest to it, made in U.S.A. in pill form.1 med said’must be chewed,not swallowed.He wolfs/gulps food/rewards’ -not chewing.Help me choose the best/safest heartworm med for him in the interim.I’m wheelchair -bound/blind/shakey from MS.Please help me select the best thing for my best friend.thanks
I have a question about..coughing.
Ihave a Yorkie that neighbors found in street and gave to me. She was coughing and it got worse, took her to vet, xray showed collapsing trachea. She gave me prescription for two different syrups, hasn’t helped, saw Pawhealers online, ordered some herbs for phlem, doesn’t work, ordered herbs for slight heart murmur, doesn’t help, ordered NHV Resp-Aid and using for 3 days, hasn’t helped. Her coughing is getting longer in period of time. What do you do for your little dogs there? In between coughing spells, she runs around the house,barks at any noise, eats holistic food and stool is normal. What else can I do?

Mental health during confinement during heart worm treatment
Our newest dog came to us with heart worm. While he likes to run and play with our other dogs the vet has us confine him during the many weeks of treatment. The dog does not understand and seems to think he is being punished for something he did not do. What can we do to improve his situation?
Mini Schnauzer Gagging and Choking
My dog keeps gagging like she trying to cough something up but nothing ever does. We’ve rubbed her throat when she is gagging . It isn’t a constant occurrence. She will be fine & sleeping then she gets up and starts gagging. She ate & drank last night. She’s 4-5 yrs old. I haven’t taken her to a vet yet. This started 2 days ago.

I give my dogs heartworm medication every month on the same day each month. My vet is always making me get a heartworm test done every year. Is is really necessary if I never miss a dose?
I have a question about… my 2 yr old border collie mix
I adopted her from a rescue center as a 3-4 month old puppy. Last summer she developed an intermittent cough and would pant heavily after only 5-10 minutes of exercise. Her tongue would also turn a dusky color. Our vet tried several medications, including antibiotics and steriods. The vet also took 2 chest x-rays. The x-rays showed “speckles” throughout her respiratory system. The specks were random, like someone flinging paint at a canvas from several feet away.
After receiving the medications, my dog’s cough went away. Her panting lessened and even stopped for awhile over the winter months. However, her symptoms of panting and a dusky tongue after exercise, being stressed, or frightened are coming back with the spring months, and our vet is baffled. Have you ever encountered anything like this before?
Is the chronic form of pulmonary histoplasmosis a possibility? We do live in Pennsylvania, and my dog loves to be outside in our yard. Thank you.
a loud dog murmer in a 7 year old miniature schnauzer who will turn 8 in july.
The vets put her on lassixe (furosemide 20mg 1half tablet twice a day enalapril 2.5 mg tablets also every 12 hrs. And amoxicilin 125mg 2 x a day for a week her diet up till now was science diet can food 1 and a half cans in 2 feedings morning and night. Where can i find dog food with no salt? Hills hd food has 20 percent pork fat and corn as the no 1 ingredient. How long is the life expectency with a heart murmer we were cooking liver for her with rice she picked out the liver got diarhea lost sa little weight and her appetite isnt too good she likes chicken with sweet potatoe is there a can dog food i can purchase for her she weighs 24 and a half lb i had the same breed mini schnauzer that lived 16 and a half years on roast chicken. This one with the murmer also likes 4 apples a day. Not any more though she dosent get enough exercise because i have a bad back and cant walk too much we use wee wee pads can you please make any suggestions to stimulate her diet and make her live longer thank you very much lenny

Enter your question here. When my 5 year-old cat is in a deep sleep, she wheezes loudly. She doesn’t do this when she’s awake. Should I be concerned?
Her 3 year-old daughter becomes mean and bites when she chews celery, cabbage or catnip. Why? Is it the same as the “happy drunk” and the “mean drunk”?

I have a question about. Shih tzu Heart Rate
I have a 10 year old Shih tzu whose heart rate is running about 60. What is the normal rate? She is 11 lbs. Blood tests don’t show anything. Right now she’s fighting corneal ulcer and being treated by a specialist who says this should not affect heart rate. As of June her heart was normal. Reg Vet doesn’t want to do additional tests until eye is cleared up.
