I have an 8 yr old male poodle mix who’s recently been diagnosed as being diabetic.I have 2 questions. 1.I cook for him boiled turkey w/brown rice & sometimes w/green beans. What else may I fix for a variety and sufficient nutrients? 2.I give him his insulin shots based on what the vet says his blood sugar is. Question 2: Is there a way I can check his blood sugar at home? Twice daily trips to the vet is becoming more expensive than the insulin,test strips and syrings.

Enter your question here he has been throuing up solid hard food and now only lickes the juice out of cans of food i give him three or four cans a day. i’v been to the vet and they say hes fine i dont think so what do you think ?

my dog is allergic to corn, wheat, soy,,, what is a good dog food, that is not expensive for him,, he is a american bulldog,,, does purina have a brand??? i looked up a few,, but they r very expensive,, help????

She has allergies and is scratching and then bites herself. The Vet gave her Simplicef antiobiotic and it gave her loose stool and now diarrhea. She was eating Natural Balance chicken and Sweet potato and I add chicken breast that I buy at the market. My aunt who recommended you very highly suggested Caster & Pollack Organics, Chicken and Brown Rice which I am going to gie her 1/2 can – My vet prescribed Hills Prescription but I was not happy with ingredients.
Do you think the Organics is good? What about cooking for her, chicken and brown rice? My husband died recently and she is a rescue dog.

My puppy was almost 2 before she was toliet trained and she can go 1/2 day and up to 6hrs before she pees. I switched to canned food and now she goes all the time. Is canned food good as a complete meal. I using Evangers and I never saw her eat so fast. My other 2 Cavaliers eat dry( Prairie)and doing great and it’s the only dry my puppy likes…well she’s 20mos old.

We have a young GWSP who seems to have frequent soft stools. She also eats more than our much larger Rottweiler, but does not gain excess weight. Is this a food issue or is there some type of enzyme that she needs?
