I assume your pet has a medially luxating patella (knee cap). The surgical repair of this problem is quite successful. Typically, surgery is only recommended for the severe cases. Medical management and walking for physical therapy can be effective for the minor cases. If surgery has been recommended, you should expect a good outcome in the hands of a skilled surgeon.
