My twelve year old dog has been taking the presciption drug ‘Vetmedin” for three months for congestive heart failure

He has a severe cough which is much worse since he started taking the medication.

    Vetmedin, a brand of pimobendan, is only one treatment for congestive heart failure. It is not uncommon to use additional medications for congestive heart disease. Other drugs we commonly use are enalapril, furosemide, and butorphanol. Discuss multiple drug therapies with your veterinarian
