My Dog has dandruff or is it dandruff?
My dog gets dandruff when she gets excited or overheated. Is this normal, or what can I do about it?

She may shed the flakes more when hot or excited but the flakes do not just form during this time. Dry flakey skin can be helped with a combination of medicated shampoos and nutritional supplements. We use a sulfur based shampoo, sulfoxydex, quite successfully; but here are other sulfur containing shampoos that would work as well. In addition we use a topical oil treatment called Essential 6. Orally we use hemp oil; a dog this size would get 1 teaspoon daily. These situations are controlled, not cured.
