my dog charlie cant hold his pee or poop
charlie is our 12yr. old shepard collie mix, just leaks pee all day and poop just comes out, in the house he acts like he dont even know, we keep a male strap on him cause he cant hold his pee either he dont evan know it is happening.he can be sleeping and poop just comes out, all hrs. of the day and night, and we think he has hip problems, he cant squat to poop, as he’s walking poop just comes out. please help…this is a terrible thing… also our vet says he has degenerative myelopathy thank you, linda

This is a consequence of his degenerative myelopathy. The male strap to prevent urine leakage is not recommended. At this stage of his life, he needs nursing care and compassion, there is no specific treatment to prevent these symptoms of degenerative myelopathy.
