Maltese loves to chew on anything metalic
My maltese loves to chew on anything metalic she can scrounge up (paper clips, staples, the metal part of a plug…) Is this an indication of some sort of vitamin definciency or is there something else that could cause this?

She should be examined and have lab work done to rule out health problems. This can be a symptom of diabetes or Cushing’s Disease. However, this may be a behavioral problem called pica with no serious health problems. If this is the case my biggest concern would be the dog swallowing an object to cause an intestinal obstruction.
