Loose stools

My two 12 year old chihuahuas have loose stools. I’ve been to the vet twice and they don’t have any parasites or worms. They use a heartworm pill that kills all worms including hookworms and whipworms so I assume they don’t have them even though they’re hard to find. The vet says it’s stress colitis, they’re afraid of storms. I give them Kaopectate every few days and it works for a couple of days but is there something healthier that may help? Thank you…..

A diet change may help. A food with fewer ingredients and more unique protein and carbohydrate sources may help solve the problem. A fish and potato diet is one example. There are a number of commercial products on the market.
