Length of time a female in heat can bleed when in heat
My lab mix has been bleeding now for almost 4 weeks. She is in heat. Is 4 weeks normal for a dog or is there something wrong? This is my first experience having a dog in heat. She was adopted and is now 3 years old. I am having her spayed in about 10 days.

Four weeks is a little outside of normal for bleeding while in heat. Usually it would have stopped by now. If she is acting normally otherwise this may be a normal variation. If she seems ill, have her checked now, do not wait the 10 days, as she could have a uterine infection.
