I have a question if hemp oil will help lung tumor?
Will hemp oil/extract or other, safely reduce the size of a tumor in a cat?
-My 13 year old kitty probably has a tumor on his lung. The report reads, with increased white blood cells on CBC had a thoracic xrays which revealed a very large soft tissue mass in the caudual dorsal right lung field. Abdominal ultrasound showed mild thickening of the bowel, mild chronic pancreatitis. The final report is pending samples taken of the mass for a pathologist’s testing. The mass on the ultrasound resembled soft tissue (tumor).
Time permitting we will try to have tumor removed from lung. My question: Will hemp oil/extract or other, safely reduce the size of a tumor in a cat?
I’m crushed. Can you advise??

Our deepest condolences to you and your cat, battling cancer is a difficult situation! We use hemp oil as an adjuvant therapy in cancer. Simply put, hemp oil and other nutraceuticals or homeopathics may aid in the treatment of cancer when coupled with conventional medicine. They are unlikely to cause substantial decrease in size of a tumor mass on their own. The single most effective means of treating most cancer is to remove a discrete mass when possible followed by targeted chemotherapy to kill missed cells. A confirmation of tumor type is imperative to properly treat a cancer.
You nailed it. We had the lung lobe removed with the mass in it 4 days ago. He came home after 2 days from the hospital and looks better and more comfortable already. It was a large mass. When the reports come back that identify the tumor type we will start the medical therapy. It sounds like we’ve done it right so far. BTW the surgeons were very clear that he is not cured but this is an extension of quality of life for him.
I am encouraged you think hemp oil will give additional healing, you also mentioned “other nutraceautical or homeopathics”. Would you expand on this and tell me what I should be looking at? Also do you have a dosage recommendation for the hemp oil??
