vaccination age

I have a 2 and a half month old feral kitten. He is already very domesticated. My question is: at what age should I take him in for shots, which kind of shots should he get and when is it appropriate to have him neutered?
Thank you,

One Response to “vaccination age”

  • Dr. Gaylord Brown:

He is old enough to start vaccinations now. We recommend cats live indoors. These cats need to be vaccinated for respiratory diseases and feline distemper. Kittens get a series of two vaccinations, followed by a booster in a year, then every three years. The state requires rabies vaccination for animals after they are four months old, boostered in one year, then every three years. We recommend neutering at 6 months of age.
