she is about 4 and we live in new york. she sheds all day, every day. how can i stop the constant shedding? her hair is very think whats the best way to keep her clean of ticks and bugs?

You cannot prevent the shedding in this breed. You need to brush her thoroughly every day. The best way to control parasites is to use a spot on treatment. Some are effective just against fleas, others against fleas and ticks, so be sure to read the label.
