I have a question about.my shephard mix dog “Zak”..
I rescued Zak as a puppy fron No. Shore animal league – he is now 8yrs. old and for the last 5yrs to present time when I am at work he digs holes in the walls in my home, they are usually 4×4 holes along with the insulation. They are usually be a door so I believe he wants to be near me. He has been on doggie prozak for just a little while and still makes his holes. I have 8 holes in my house some have been fixed and he eats a hole again right down to the studs. Some are saying this is a calcium deficiency. How would you know? So I’m asking you HELP – any advice would be helpfull.

This is a classical case of separation anxiety. Medications such as clomicalm may prove helpful. In addition there is a product called Dog Appeasement Pheromones that may aid in the situation.
