I have a question about…my cat.

My 4 yr old cat likes to lick my carpet (even though I do vaccume) and, she loves to chew on plastic grocerie bag’s. I’m afraid she’ll get some stuck in her digestion track. What can I do to correct these odd habits? She’s in and outside cat. Thanks for your assistance!

  • Dr. Gaylord Brown:

The carpet licking is probably not dangerous in anyway but you must redirect the plastic chewing because this can potentially lead to an obstruction. Redirect her activity to a more suitable toy when you catch her doing this. Keep all bags safely stored away.

My 16 year old cat Stinky not only licks the bags, he eats big holes in them. I am so afraid he will have an obstruction, he drives my crazy. He will hunt down bags…I am constantly chewing out my hubby for not taking them out to the garbage as soon as he unpacks them. I have tried everything and I can’t redirect him. Do you have any other suggestions?
