  • Dr. Gaylord Brown:

This type of itching can be from allergies, parasites, seborrhea, or obsessive compulsive disorder. A veterinarian can help to determine the cause and the needed treatment. The most likely problem is an allergy condition called atopy. At the sanctuary, we test these dogs for allergens, treat with prednisone, medicated baths, and hyposensitizing injections. These will require a veterinarian’s assistance.
