I have a question about “inverted sneezes”

Enter your question here: I have a 4y.o. 10 lb. rescued mixed male dog, Munchkin. A DNA test shows he is part Lhasa Apso, Chihuahua, Cocker Spaniel, Pekingese, Poodle and Weimaraner. He has these attacks which my Vet calls “inverted sneezes” usually after drnking water, becoming excited or for some unexplained reasons. They can be scary and sometimes seem to last for a long time. Is there anything I can do to help him through one of these episodes? I’ve been told to lightly rub his neck or blow gently on his face. This only helps him sometimes to break the cycle. Is there anything else I can do to get him over one of these occurences? I would appreciate any advice you can give me. Thank you.
