I have a question about…eye discharge
I have 2 cats, 1 is a ragdoll about 12 years old and a siamese about 7 years old.
They both get a clear discharge from 1 eye. The vet has taken a sample of the siamese’s and he did not see anything in it. Could it just be allergies?

A clear discharge is generally not an indication of infection. An allergy may be the cause. It may also be due to an occluded nasolacrimal duct, which allows tears to spill over the lower lid. We use anti-histamine drops for ocular irritation when an allergy is suspected. If it does not help consider getting the nasolacrimal duct flushed.
