I have a question about…excessive sleep in the eyes
For the past 2 months or so, my dog a catahula and belgian sheperd mix has had excessive sleep in her eyes. I clean it out but it comes back pretty quickly. She drank lake water near our camp, I don’t know if that matters. She is about 9 yrs old.Is there something that you can reccomend to treat this.

Excessive “eye boogers” can be a sign of many conditions. Low tear production, conjunctivitis, allergies, and mere irritation. Until she can be examined, wash out the eyes twice daily with an over the counter saline eye wash to alleviate the symptoms. Allow the crust to develop before her examination so the veterinarian can see what you are dealing with.
