I have a question about…blood and mucus in stools

My 5 yr. old yorkie has a very loose stool with blood and mucus. It just started. She takes heartgard and has had her shots. She was wormed with drontal on 2/24 and again 3 wks later.

    Blood and mucus are an indication of severe inflammatory bowel disease. It can be caused by something she ate or more serious disease processes. If this is persisting, you need to seek a veterinarian’s assistance. Feeding a soft bland diet, like meat baby food, is a good start, but more serious problems will need proper diagnosis and treatment.
