I have a question about… a new cat

We recently lost a 12 year old male cat to cancer. We have another 12 year old female in good health. The two had lived together for most of that time. Can we bring a new kitten into the home without issues? The older female is somewhat shy and protective. We’re worried that she needs a companion but also that she may reject the new kitten?? Looking for advise.

With a little patience, you should be able to introduce a new kitten into your household. Allow a retreat for the older cat to be able to get away from the high energy youngster and do not try to force interaction.
