I have a question about…food

I was told by my vet to switch from wellness core hard food to wellness core grain free soft food. He said its better for the cat and said the myst that soft food is worth for the teeth is wrong also. He said studies show that hard food has No benefit for teeth than soft…Also my cat is 14lbs and said feed her three 3.3oz cans of soft food.. Is this info correct??
