My friend has a male non-neutered approx. 7 year old cat that has had a large swollen pouch on his cheek the last several weeks-he gave him amoxicillin (but could only put it on his canned food-he couldn’t get it down with a syringe)but cat still has swollen cheek-but he still eats fine

The most common problem would be an abscess. The amount of time you describe would indicate a chronic situation. There is an outside chance it could be a tumor. The cat needs to have surgery to determine the exact cause and to resolve the situation.
