I have a question about…
Dr. Gaylord Brown,
I have been walking my dog in a park which is also close to a small creek.
Several times now my dog has found some kind of feces. It seems to be at the base of trees. Very dark in color and look like what a dog or cat would do. How ever he eats it before I can stop him or get a good look at it. I think it could be racoon or cat feces. Should I be worried. I live in a country setting also. My dogs are on a heartwormer and get their shots.

The largest concern would be getting parasites. Make sure to have your dog dewormed regularly and have his feces checked if there is any intestinal upset like vomiting or diarrhea. Also, make sure your pet’s vaccines include hepatitis and leptospirosis.
