how much exercise my dog needs
I have a 18 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. I take her to doggie day camp 2 or 3 times a week. The day after she is always exhausted because they play for about 6 or 7 hours while there. 1 – Is it possible for her to play too much? 2 – Since she plays so much at camp, does she still need to get out for a few hours on her “off” days? If I take her out to walk she enjoys it, but she seems content to sleep and relax most of the day.

After extreme exertion she may be sore, like any weekend athlete. In these situations a day of rest after hard play is warranted. However, even if she is tired, getting out for some fresh air and a walk doesn’t have to be extreme. The best course of action is constant moderate exercise. Getting out frequently prevents boredom and bad behavior!
