Two of my three chihuahuas have recently started getting brittle fur on their backs only. Is this caused by winter conditions? They are inside dogs, and I’d like to know what is the best supplement to feed them to soften their fur. Thanks

Brittle fur can be a symptom of systemic disease. I would consider testing for thyroid problems and Cushing’s Diseases. The best supplement we have found for the hair is hemp oil. A typical chihuahua would get 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoons per day.
