Ear licking
I have two Golden Retrievers. Their names are Billy and Tommy. Billy is always licking Tommy’s ears. Billy does this for hours at a time and often winds up panting from working at it so hard. Tommy never returns the favor. Why does Billy do this? Tommy seems to like it but, it gets annoying to us.

This may be due to an odor from Tommy’s ears. He may have a chronic infection that causes a low grade exudate and odor; which entices Billy to lick the ear. Have Tommy’s ears examined.
