Dog Blowing Coat
I have two siberian huskies. One of them just recently started blowing his coat, which seems odd this time of year as the weather is cooling off. They are both kept together and are outside dogs. Could this be an alergic reaction or should I be concerned? With winter coming on I don’t won’t to risk him getting sick because he doesn’t have the right winter coat.

Typically dogs do replace their coats twice yearly. Once in the spring and once in the fall. The blown coat appearance you refer to is variable from pet to pet. I suspect this is completely normal. If there are actual bald spots developing where hair is not growing back your dog should be examined by a veterinarian. There are hormone conditions that can cause coat abnormalities; hypothyroidism and hyperadrenocortisim (Cushing’s Disease) being the most common.
