Cut on and in GSD’s nose
Hello. I have a 10 year old male GSD. Recently, I have noticed a small open cut on one of his nostrils. The cut goes slightly into the nostril. It is red, but is not bloody or seeping any puss. At first I thought that he may have cut it on a plant, but it has not healed. I am not sure if it is related, but he does have a runny nose, frequent “eye boogers”, and itching. I started putting “bag balm” on his nose wound to see if that clears it up. Do you think all the symptoms are related? Is this possibly a sing of an infection?

The symptoms may be related. A sinus infection, allergies, lupus, or a tumor are all possibilities. A sore that won’t heal always needs to be checked by a doctor.
