cat’s bloody diarrhea

I have a semi-feral cat who goes out most of the time. He has bloody diarrhea but seems otherwise healthy at 4 years old. Even if I could catch him, I couldn’t give him daily antibiotics as a vet would suggest. Is there anything else I can do?

Dietary management is about all you could try. This would entail confining the cat to make sure it ate only the prescribed diet. There are specific prescription foods specifically designed for bowel problems, EN by Purina is one such food. In addition, you may be able to deworm the cat by mixing a prescribed dose of medication into a small amount of food. Fast the cat overnight, then feed the medication laced food.
