Behavior-jumping on people
Although my 8 month old Boxer/Rot mix has been VERY easy to train with anything I have thrown his way, I can not break him from jumping(and when he jumps he pushes all his body weight off of the human’s body,causing scratches) on people. He also will start jumping & biting on me for no reason if I just stand up.(not always). I have tried to stop dead in my tracks and not show him attention, I have tried to pet him and give him more attention at that time(both of which friends have suggested to try) My vet suggested that everytime he does this I should make him sit, click a pen(?) and give him a treat when he does. That didn’t work. Doesn’t that just tell him “if I jump and she tells me to sit, if I do it I’ll get a treat?” Please, Dr. can you help me. This is starting to get annoying/embarrassing when visitors stop by.
