Anger Displancement in Cats
I have 2 cats, Jill is almost 4 and has always been very meek and timid. Gladys who we got a a very young kitten is almost 2, she has the domanent personality. Recently Gladys seen neighbor cats at our doors and has ‘puffed’ and hissed and growlsed at them. Aparently during one of these times she attacked Jill. Jill now lives on top of a bookcase and if she even hears a noise she starts hissing. If we do not catch Gladys she will again chase Jill. I have tried Rescue Remedy, a very expensive pheromone spray from the vet. I currently have a calming collar on Gladys.
They are both females that are fixed.
My question is will my cats go back to being firnds?

If the pheromone treatment has not helped, you may need to use some anti-anxiety medications. Amitriptylline given once or twice a day may do the trick. It would ideally be used as a temporary solution to modify the cat’s behavior.
Thanks, I will give that a try. I am desperate. I love my cats and the thought of giving one away makes my stomach turn. But seeing Jill sit in her little bed on the bookcase makes me want to cry.
