My 12 year old Welsh Corgi frequently gets “hot spots” on his abdomen and groin. He bites off the hair and licks it red and raw. I’ve tried treating it with corn starch or hyrodgen peroxide without success. The vet prescribes antibiotics and cortisone shots, but I don”t want to do that too often. Any home remedy suggestions?

Make sure your pet is flea free. Feed a food with a unique protein source (we use bison) and unique carbohydrate source (we use brown rice). We use hemp oil for the coat and skin. We also test these pets for allergies using a system by Heska, your veterinarian could help with this. Also, in the home remedy realm, application of the deodorant Ice Blue Secret can really help.
