My 4 month old puppy continues to nip and bite. What should we do?

Bailey came to us at 9 weeks old. We have had minimal success with getting him to stop the biting/nipping. We tried firm verbal discipline, we received a DVD when he came to us and it’s stated we should hold him on his back firmly on his breastbone using the No Command. This helps some but he still hasn’t stopped the behavior. Help!!

Firm persistence is the key, remember he is still quite young. The most frequent problem is inconsistency. You must develop a no tolerance attitude from every member of the family. You cannot play with Bailey sometimes with your hands, then discipline at other times. NEVER allow him to nip your hands when playing. Always use a toy for him to chew on, like a tug of war rope. Always offer such a toy when you have to discipline him for nipping your hands.
